Thora Birch

Thora Birch, born March 11, 1982 is an American actress. Her debut in film was in Purple People Eater (1988), for which she won an Young Artist Award for "Best Young Actress under Nine Years Old". Birch was a child actress who was in films like All I Want For Christmas (1991), Patriot Games(1992), Hocus Pocus (1993), Monkey Trouble (94), Now and Then (1995), and Alaska (1996). The actress won a Young Artist Award for "Best Young Actress under Nine Years Old." In 1999, Birch played Jane Burnham in American Beauty. This film earned her a BAFTA nomination. In 2001, she played Enid in the critically acclaimed Ghost World (2001), winning a nomination for Golden Globe for Best Actress. Birch was also nominated for an Emmy Award for her performance in Homeless To Harvard The Liz Murray Story in 2003. Birch has also been a part of Dungeons & Dragons (2000) (2001), The Hole (2004), Silver City (2004), Dark Corners (2006) and Winter of Frozen Dreams (2009). Birch was also a part of Whisperer Mary as well as Gamma in Season 10 of The Walking Dead (2019-2020). Birch was the oldest child born to Jack Birch (and Carol Connors) in Los Angeles. Birch was born in Los Angeles, and her family's ancestral surname was Biersch was of German-Jewish, Scandinavian, French-Canadian and Italian ancestry. [6] The name Thora, which she has adopted, is derived form the name of Thora, the Norse god of thunder and lightning ("Thor") and would be her name if she were a boy. Kian Bolt Birch is her younger brother. Both parents have been actors in adult films and appeared in Deep Throat. Based on their own experiences in the entertainment industry, they were reluctant initially to support Thora. But, her photograph was viewed by agents after a babysitter saw her fake commercials. Birch was four years old when she received her first major break when her babysitter invited her to audition for the Quaker Oats advertisement.
