Sarah Chalke was born on 27 August 1976
in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Her parents are Angie Chalke and Doug Chalke. She
is the middle child having one older sister Natasha Chalke, and one younger,
Piper Chalke. Sarah began her acting career on TV in a made-for-TV film called
City Boy (1992). After her first film was a success, Sarah auditioned for the
role of "Becky" from Roseanne (1988). The show was seeking someone to
replace Alicia Goranson, who left the show to go to studies at college. Sarah
graduated from high school in 1995 and was a part in the production of Roseanne
(1988) between 1994 and 1995. In 1994, Sarah starred alongside Jim Varney in
Ernest Goes to School (1994). She starred in Robin of Locksley (1996) and Stand
Against Fear(1996). In both films she played the part of Krista Wilson who was
an athlete. Sarah was asked to play a character in a TV show named Nothing Too
Good for a Cowboy (1998) the same year following Roseanne (1988). Based on the
show Nothing Too Good For a Cowboy (1998), the show was also based. Took over
the role of Becky on Roseanne (1988) from Alicia Goranson in 1993. She stated
that she would like to leave acting and pursue a degree in college. 2001
(1993-1997) She played Sara Gilbert's older sister in Roseanne (1988) however,
she is actually younger. Attended the 1999 CCMA award ceremony and presented an
award to the most successful single of 1999. [September 1999] At age eight,
appeared in Vancouver plays. Can speak fluently in French and German. She is a
volunteer at a hospital where terminally ill kids are treated . She also
volunteers with the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund. Chalke likes to cook with
her pals (especially Thai or sushi) she also plays the guitar, climb, ski
(she's an instructor) and kayaking. Her father is an attorney and both of her
parents run an adoption agency for children. Her parents brought her to China
in order to oversee the adoptions of many orphans.
