Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is a American TV chef and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network star with her trademark spikey blonde hair and pumped up personality reveals easy to learn techniques and eliminates intimidation of restaurants dishes in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell is also a part of some of New York's top restaurants, has learned about Italian food, its culture and traditions as well as competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by food and cooking at an early age. The Culinary Institute of America has sparked her interest in restaurant management after she earned an English/Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is a wonderful adventure. I couldn't be more educated or accomplished in my studies. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy studying at Italy's Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate Italian way of life and its culture and has made an impact on her own perception of food. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists kids who have challenges. In her capacity as an inspirational speaker, she travels across the nation to talk about her love of food as well as her career in the culinary field. Anne has always been grateful she was able to share her passion that she had for and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
