Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was the daughter of actors Melissa D. Canaday (New York City) and Edward James Hyland (New York City). She started her career as a professional at age four by performing voice overs and commercial work. Private Parts was her first film. The Object of My Affection (1998) was followed by Another World (1964) where she played "Rain Wolfe" as a child who was found in the park who was looked after and loved by Josie. Sarah would work with Amy Carlson ("Josie") a few more times: Falcone (2000). Law & Order (1990). Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was chosen to play the role of "Audrey Hepburn" in Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story (2001). The same year, she also selected to play "Molly” in ABC’s The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999). With Kathy Bates, Audra Mcdonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chenoweth and JoeGould's Secret (2000) and Falcone (2000). Alongside her television and film work, Sarah studied voice, ballet, jazz, hip-hop and tap Theatre Dance, and performed in her tap and Theatre dance class in "Reel to Real" at Lincoln Center as invited performers.A New York-born and raised girl, Sarah spent much of her time in film, television, and also voicing numerous radio ads and also traveling with her father, Edward James Hyland, when he was employed at many different theaters across the United States. Her mother took care of her until she was 2 years old. of age. Then she went to the public school. She was accepted in 6th grade to PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) in which she remained until 2008 when she graduated. When Sarah turned 18 and moved to Los Angeles, CA and within two weeks was flying with a pilot named "My American Family". The pilot's name was later changed to Modern Family (2009, after Sarah was picked). To date, Sarah portrays "Haley Dunphy" who is the eldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) has received numerous awards, most notably the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.
