Katey Sagal was a versatile and gifted
performer who can do comedy and drama. In the 1980s she became a popular
household name as Peg Bundy in the Fox series Married... with Children (1987).
During the long run of the series she was nominated two times for American
Comedy Award and three Golden Globes. Peg Bundy was a well-known and popular
character, however Katey persevered when the show's end. She starred in several
sitcoms, and played characters who were different to the outrageous role that
gained her national attention. On Sons of Anarchy (2008) in which she played
the character of Gemma Teller Morrow. This was the Matriarch of the Hell's
Angels-like California biker gang. She was awarded a Golden Globe Award 2011
for her performance. Catherine Louise Sagal was born on January 19 1954, the
daughter of singer and director Sara Zwilling and noted television and film
director Boris Sagal. Born in Los Angeles, she started singing when she was
just five years old. She studied voice and acting at the California Institute
of the Arts. As waitress, she started singing with "The Group With No
Name" and later got a break by joining Gene Simmons' 1970s rock band KISS.
She also gained valuable experiences as a backup record singer for Simmons as
well as other famous artists such as Bob Dylan and Etta James. She also
performed with a lot of energy when she performed live together with Bette
Midler in the wild stage show of Bette Midler in the late 1970s and early
1980s.
